Beijing will replace all fatal shootings in the injections.

The authorities in Beijing will change the way in which the execution of criminals sentenced in the Chinese capital to death. As reported on Tuesday, June 16, newspaper The China Daily, by the end of 2009, all shooting will be deemed to be replaced by the more humane lethal injection.
It is also reported that 20 kilometers from Beijing, has already built a special center, where criminals are executed a new way. In addition, as soon as possible to begin training the police and medics, who will prepare convicts to death and make them an injection.
The publication notes that the use of lethal injection is possible in China since 1997, when they were amended in the legislation. Local experts say that this kind of punishment is not only more humane than shooting, but also more secure, convenient and low cost.
According to The China Daily, China's first city, which began using lethal injection, has become Kunming. Subsequently, it adopted the experience of other cities. In Beijing, injections were also used, but very rare: most of the convicts sentenced to death here, until recently, were shot.
At present, China is the world leader in terms of the number given in the executions. Associated Press, referring to the data of Chinese human rights organization Du Hua (Dui Hua Foundation), said that in 2009 the Chinese authorities intend to execute about five thousand people.
