In Egypt, 24 people were sentenced to death.

Egyptian court on 19 May sentenced to death on charges of murdering 24 people, reports Reuters. The sentence was imposed in absentia.
The convicts took part in the crossfire between two groups of private security guards, took place in March 2008 in the province Beheyra. As a result of shooting 11 people were killed, another 27 were wounded.
The guards involved in the clash, had been hired by two rival companies fought for the ownership of agricultural land in the Nile Delta. The conflict occurred after one of the companies force invaded the land on which the two candidates.
According to the agency, such collisions occur regularly in Egypt, but rarely end in mass murder. Suitable for cultivation the land is highly valued in Egypt, as well as its area is extremely small.
