Nigerian militants blew up a major oil pipeline.

Militants from the Movement for the Liberation of Niger Delta (MEND) said on destroying oil pipeline owned oil company Agip. That was reported by Bloomberg on Friday, June 19.
The pipeline feeds crude oil to the oil terminal "Brass," which also prinadezhit Nigerian unit Agip. According to the Bloomberg, subsidiary Agip in Nigeria is the largest oil company in Africa.
Agency of the attack on the pipeline said the representative fighters MEND, Jomo Gbomo (Jomo Gbomo). According to him, the attack was a group of armed grenade.
Comments by Agip have been reported.
This is not the first time in the last few days, when MEND attacks oil pipelines, located in the Niger Delta. On Wednesday, June 17, gunmen tried to storm the terminal "Forkados" oil company Royal Dutch Shell.
  According to Bloomberg, the incessant attacks of local insurgents over the past three years led to a reduction in the volume of oil exports from Nigeria by 20 percent (compared with 2006).
The Movement for the Liberation of Niger Delta are fighting for the independence of the region where the largest deposits of hydrocarbons Nigeria. The militants demand that the Government obtain the natural rent. In order to achieve their goals MEND uses terrorist methods: the abduction of foreigners working in oil companies, sabotage and murder.
On Friday, 19 June, the Nigerian newspaper This Day reported that the main supplier of weapons to MEND is Ukraine. According to the publication prior to crew detained in Nigeria Ukrainian aircraft militants had planned to allocate 18 boxes of weapons.
