In Jerusalem, during a protest organized by orthodox Jews on Saturday, injured six police officers, transfer agency Reuters.
Perturbation of the protesters were due to the intention of the City to open an underground parking lot on Saturday, a day when the Jewish canon, can not work. Several hundred orthodox Jews intended to infiltrate into the park, located under City Hall and to block it.
Law enforcement agencies have stopped the demonstrators, who responded started to throw stones and bottles at police, shouting "Shabbat". To pacify the crowd had to use water cannons. Five protesters were detained.
This incident, said agency, is an illustration of a continuing tension between the relatively secular majority in Israel and the orthodox Jewish minority that insists on respect for the ancient religious laws.
