At the UN negotiations on Security Council reform.

At the UN on Thursday to start negotiations on Security Council reform, reports Reuters. Their aim will be the expansion of the Security Council to bring it into line with modern political realities.
In the talks would be attended by all 192 member organizations, and most likely will be at least a year before the parties agree on a draft of the forthcoming reform. At the first meeting dealt with procedural matters, and debate on the merits will begin in March.
Remember, only the Security Council of 15 members, five of which are permanent, while the rest are elected for two years on a regional basis. The permanent members - the U.S., Russia, Britain, France and China - have veto power, that is, their consent is required for the adoption of decisions in the Security Council.
It was expected that in the upcoming negotiations will be discussed for inclusion in the permanent Security Council members (without veto power) in countries such as Germany, Japan, India and Brazil, as well as two representatives in Africa.
