In Japan, arrested a citizen of Russia Sergey Yaroslavtsev, announced March 4, ITAR-TASS news agency.
Japanese law enforcement authorities argue that the 34-year-old Russian tried to hold on the territory of three kilograms of marijuana. The detainee denies his guilt. He said that he could not explain how the drugs got into his suitcase.
Yaroslavtsev was arrested in the port city of Toyama Prefecture Fusiki, which arrived from Vladivostok, 21 February. However, the media learned about his conflict with the law enforcement agencies only now.
Senior lawyer law firm Padva, Heslam-Jones & Partners Dennis Tovkaylo said "Lente.ru" that by law, the detainee Russian should be subject to criminal liability in the territory of Japan. If he's found guilty, he agreed in the Russian Federation and Japan, the Convention on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons, may be transferred to serve their sentences at home.
