The new indictment, as the former consists of 11 items, but now two of them relate to the genocide (previously this was only one item). Charges made separately for the cases of genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992 and Srebrenica in 1995-m. The remaining charges relate to crimes against humanity, murder, hostage-taking, and so on.
Furthermore, in order to expedite the process, Karadzic was indicted for committing crimes in a smaller number of regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was recorded in the previous indictment.
The charges in the new edition had been prepared as early as mid-February 2009 and were to be presented on 20 February. However, if the tribunal was unable to do so because of an error in the text.
After new charges Karadzic said that the tribunal has no right to judge him. It has been registered as a refusal to plead guilty on all 11 items, reported AFP.
Former President of the Republic of Srpska, a fugitive from justice since 1996, was arrested in July 2008. After that it extradite to The Hague for the Tribunal.
