The Army presented an ultimatum to the Government of Madagascar.

Chief of Staff of the armed forces of Madagascar Razolofomahandri Edmond (Edmond Rasolofomahandry) presented an ultimatum to the Government, demanding the cessation of the political crisis in the country, reports AFP.
The Government provides 72 hours to fulfill the requirements of the army. Otherwise, according to a statement, the army promised to take power in the country in their hands.
"We are not going to stand on someone's part, we only demand that all political forces and the civilian population immediately met and agreed on a way out of crisis", - says the ultimatum.
31 January 2009, Leader of the Opposition Andri Rauzhelino attempted coup, declaring himself head of state. He explained his action so that the current Government of Madagascar does not cope with their responsibilities. February 3, Rauzhelina was dismissed from his post as mayor of the capital of Madagascar. February 7, during the campaign in support of the Leader of the Opposition Government ordered to open fire on demonstrators, killing 23 people.
