The Germans declared themselves the most generous tourists in the world.

In 2008, Germans spent on tourist travel to foreign countries 85 billion dollars. This is more than tourists from any other country in the world. The statement was made chairman of the German tourist Union (DRV) Klaus Leple opening ITB Berlin 2009 - the largest exhibition in the world tourism industry, transmits Agency France Presse.
Total costs in 2008 of German tourists increased by 7 billion dollars compared to 2007. The most popular destinations in Germany are Spain, Italy and Austria. According to Leple, the German tourism industry, despite the crisis, there are still optimistic mood.
According to preliminary estimates Rosturizma, domestic tourists in 2008, left abroad for about 10 billion dollars, while the number of Russians traveling abroad, was 11 million. The number of Russians to travel abroad for turputevkam in the last months of 2008 decreased by 20-30 percent.
In early February, the Russian media, citing data Rosturizma, reported that during the last months of 2008 the Russian market for inbound tourism fell by 60 per cent. Later in Rosturizme refuted the figures.
