All three Induty predecessor as Chief of General Staff had been killed: Ansumane Mane - in 2000, Verissimo Korriera Sabra - in 2004 and Tagme At Vaye - in 2009. The killing led to the last rebellion in the army: the military in revenge shot President Joao Bernardo Vieira, believing that the attempt is worth it.
